Well this years Animazement was here and gone before I'd even realized it. All the anxiety, the stress, the tension, blown apart by three full days of anime, friends, artwork, and hysterics. It all went by way too fast, as it always does.

This was the first year AZ was held at the Raleigh Convention Center (RCC) in downtown Raleigh. I have mixed feelings about it but overall they are positive. My only real complaint was that none of the escalators were turned on, and that my friends is a lot of freakin steps! I understand the safety concerns with afraid costume parts might get caught, but I think they should have a least had a set on each floor turned on so those of us in regular clothes (or costumes that were similar to regular clothing) would have an easier time, because if you had a bulky costume, you were taking the elevator anyway (which btw took forever and a day to get to). Having more room was nice especially in the dealers room and I really loved artist ally (although it's not really an ally now -_- ) we had so much room and they had a break every two tables so you could easily get out if needed. I heard several people refer to artist ally as the upstairs dealers room or the art dealers room Our group stayed at the Sheraton and was really impressed by their hospitality toward us and our special needs. Jon is diabetic and on a pump so they made sure we had a refrigerator in our room so he could keep his insulin cool (and at no charge to us). They were very helpful with directions and guest services went above and beyond the call of duty for us. I'm sending them a thank you card in the next day or so so they know how appreciated they were.

I have like 3 or 4 rolls of film I need to take and get developed and when I do I'll have them posted on my Flickr page. The only images I have right now is Eric and I in our costumes before we left. We did Steam Punk this year and I'm pleased with how well the costumes turned out. Also, we ended up getting 7 commissions this year instead of 2, yay us! We also sold several prints and badges and did a few trades. I'm doing a steam punk patch work hat trade for for a sexy image ~.^

Well I better go do some grocery shopping if we're going to have anything tonight for dinner. I'll try to post more on Animazement later.
